Fractional COO/CTO for Private Hire

C-suite operations and technology leadership, flexibly delivered. For operators who need senior strategic capability without the full-time cost.

What is a Fractional COO/CTO?

A fractional COO/CTO is a senior operational and technology leader who works with your business part-time — typically 2–4 days per month. You get the strategic thinking, industry knowledge, and leadership of a full-time C-suite executive at a fraction of the cost.

Think of it as having a seasoned operator in your corner — someone who's operated across 70+ locations and 20,000+ drivers — available for the decisions that matter most, without the overhead of a full-time hire.

Why Private Hire Needs This

Most operators are too small for a full-time COO or CTO. But the decisions they face — platform selection, fleet scaling, compliance, consolidation, corporate accounts — are C-suite decisions. Getting these wrong costs far more than getting part-time help.

The operator making a major dispatch platform decision without senior technical guidance is taking a bigger risk than the one with an experienced hand who's done it six times before.

How It Works

A retained model: you reserve a set number of days per month on a rolling contract. No long-term lock-in. The engagement is a mix of strategic and hands-on — board meetings, tech reviews, operational audits, team coaching — whatever the business needs most.

Remote with on-site visits as needed. I don't replace your management team. I make them sharper.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between fractional and consulting?

Fractional means I'm part of your team on an ongoing basis — attending board meetings, mentoring your managers, available between sessions for the decisions that can't wait. Consulting is typically project-based with a defined scope and deliverable. Both are available depending on what you need.

How many days per month?

Typically 2–4 days per month, depending on your needs and complexity. Some operators need more during critical periods — a platform migration or acquisition — and less during steady-state. The structure flexes around what's actually happening in the business.

Can you work with companies outside taxi and private hire?

My deepest expertise is in private hire and taxi operations — that's where I've built my career. But I'm open to working with complementary industries where I can provide genuine value, particularly businesses that intersect with transport, fleet operations, or similar operational challenges.

Do you work with competitors?

No. Sector exclusivity means I only work with one operator per region. If I'm advising your competitor, I won't take your call — and vice versa. That's a principle I don't bend on.

What's the first step?

A conversation. No pitch, no commitment, no awkward sales process. Just a chat about where you are and where you want to be. If there's a fit, we'll figure out the right structure together.
